Sorry, this is not the page in which we reveal how we are going to Geekify the world with the latest new gadget! Nor is it the place to show off our Big business plans. This page is reserved for sharing something far more Important than those things. Here you will find some simple pictures and commentary on our Real mission in life! I like the way Micah put it: "He has shown you o man what is good and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

| Rodney & Cindy LaFrance in Costa Rica |
|
In the summer of 2005 and again in 2006, my wife, Laura, and I went with a team of 20 or so adventurers (many of which came from our church in Mechanic Falls called the Vineyard. http://richardray.cihost.com/site/home ) to Costa Rica. We went there to work in conjunction with an outreach called Pura Vida. http://www.puravidacoffee.com/work/work_wgf.asp ) I went to help out in the 4 computer centers there and Laura worked with the children and we pitched in on other jobs for the benefit of local community and churches in the San Jose area. We also went to share Christ with them. It was an awesome experience which we will never forget! and we made many dear friends there. It was great to work with so many that simply wanted to give of themselves wherever they could. In 2006, another team went down to Costa Rica and since then several small teams have followed. More recently, our church purchased a piece of property and home in Costa Rica to be used for a base for longer term outreach and one of our pastors and his wife (the ones you see in the picture to the left), Rodney and Cindy LaFrance, are now living in Costa Rica to head up operations there.

| Homework Help at The Root Cellar |
|
It was 2006 and I was looking for an opportunity to do some of the things we had done in Costa Rica here in the U.S. Then I ran in to a friend who told me that an organization called The Root Cellar was in the process of purchasing a building in downtown Lewiston that would serve as a base of operations for outreach here. (See http://www.therootcellar.org/ ) The Root Cellar is a non-profit Christian agency which has facilitated outreach to the Munjoy Hill area in Portland where, over the years, they have done a tremendous amount of good for the people in that area through the work of many volunteers. So finally I ended up going down to the Root Cellar in Portland each week for 4 months to help kids out with their homework after school. It was a wonderful experience. In the long run, Laura and I would like to find ourselves volunteering with the Root Cellar here in Lewiston, perhaps teaching English as a second language to refugees and others who have settled here.
